Schools play a vital role in the lives of our young people. Here is where they spend most of their day, learn about different aspects of life and interact most with other adults and their peers.

Teachers and school administrators are important in creating an environment to help young people build on their strengths.

Make a difference by becoming an asset-building partner and actively participate in asset-building activities.

HOW DO I GET INVOLVED?

1. Sign up to become a member of the consortium and adhere to responsibility and agreements

ESPONSIBILITY
Individually take the responsibility to build or support young people in building their internal developmental assets, whilst also offering the support of 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 17 & 18 of the external assets. Schools - external assets 5, 12 & 16
Corporately work with other individuals to learn asset-building skills and tips that each can utilize.
AGREEMENT
Attend consortium meetings and events when planned
Support consortium campaigns or initiatives
Participate in community asset-building effort
Volunteer in at least one listed project for the month


HOW DO I GET STARTED?

1. Attend orientation training - Take It Personally

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?

1. Join district committee to plan and facilitate asset projects, initiatives and programmes

2. PREPARATION
Attend Planning for youth success/ asset-building conference
Assist with development of community profile

3. PLANNING
Assist with development of community action plan
Participate in programme planning

4. IMPLEMENTING
Facilitate enrollment of youth from community
Assist with development of annual pledge party and monthly social event
Attend community capacity building training

HOW WILL I KNOW HOW WELL I AM DOING?

1. Young people in the community will report on their supporters efforts in their asset success journals

2. School progress reports that include:-
# of school faculty that join the consortium as
affiliate members
# of members that attend the Take It Personally training, PFYS/ asset-building conference and community capacity building training
# of members on the district committee
